How to choose the proper type of galvanized steel pipe in your project

Technically speaking, galvanized steel pipe is a type of steel pipe that has been coated with zinc. This coating protects the steel from corrosion. It is most commonly used for outdoor construction like fences and handrails, or for some interior plumbing. It is also sometimes called galvanized iron pipe.

China hollow section tubes are very popular among users today. Seamless pipe and welded pipe are two common type of hollow structural section in use. Tianjin gi square steel pipe is used widely as a versatile building material, which has led to its inclusion in nearly every stage of the construction process from framing and floor joists, to roofing materials in the society. Because of years of production and processing experience, today's Tianjin gi square steel pipe production technology has got more improved and matured. Besides, with the complete steel pipe production equipment, as well as the professional and experienced personnel, Tianjin steel pipe production is committed to meeting the customer's various practical application needs.

Hot dipped galvanized steel pipe has been considered popular a lot among many users today. For one thing, the galvanization process protects the steel from rusting damage that can occur during transportation, installation and service. The zinc layer on the surface of pipe can form a barrier protection for steel products to extend the service life in applications. For the other thing, this layer is also resistant to wear and scratch, which makes the steel look more attractive. As a rule, with different processing technology, there will be different product costs. That can be clearly reflected in the different pipe pricing of the two kinds of pipes. Due to the high costs, hot dipped galvanized steel pipe price is more expensive than other common types of steel pipes in the current steel pipe market.

Pre galvanized steel pipe is another popular type of galvanized steel pipe in the market today, which was galvanized while in sheet format, thus prior to further manufacturing. Pre-galvanization is also known as mill galvanized, due to the fact that the steel sheet is rolled through molten zinc. After the sheet is sent through the mill to be galvanized it is cut to size and recoiled. A specific thickness is applied to the entire sheet, for example pre-galvanized Z275 steel has a 275g per square meter zinc coating. One of the advantages which pre-galvanized steel has over hot dip galvanized steel is that it has a better appearance.
