China hollow section tubes used in greenhouse frame applications

In comparison with the cost of a steel frame greenhouse, PVC frame is considered a very easy, quick, as well as inexpensive way to build a greenhouse. However, a PVC house just isn’t going to last a long time. You can reasonably expect to get several years of use out of it, but don’t hope for too much. Because the sun will take its toll (but you can delay that by using UV-resistant pipe and painting it), and the stresses of wind, snow and ice will eventually cause cracking and breaking. And of course, a flimsy PVC frame greenhouse isn’t going to take much of a snow load without collapsing. In the modern times, China hollow section tubes are widely used in greenhouse frame projects because of its cost effective, maintenance-free corrosion protection system that will be able to last for decades even in the harshest environments.

In general, steel, available in many forms for intended purposes other than greenhouse building, can be adapted to many shapes and sizes of greenhouses. Greenhouse frames can be constructed of several different types of materials. If you’re building a greenhouse, choosing which type of frame to use will be one of your first decisions. And it is obviously important for most users to select a proper type of pipe frame to supports the entire greenhouse structure. Galvanized steel pipe generally has the rational cost effective in the market. Unlike other structural steel materials, galvanized steel pipe is immediately ready for use when it is delivered. No additional preparation of the surface is required, no time-consuming inspections, additional painting or coatings are needed. Once the structure is assembled, contractors can immediately begin the next stage of construction without having to worry about the galvanized steel materials.

In recent years, cold rolled steel pipe is commonly used for steel frame in greenhouse project, which has an improved surface finish and tighter tolerances and cold rolled steel pipe is more precise dimensionally because the cold rolled steel pipe has already gone through the cooling process, which help it closer to the finished dimension while the hot rolled steel forms the finished product looser tolerances than the original material. In addition, compared with other typical steel pipe coatings, such as specialized painting and powder coating, galvanization is much more labor-intensive, resulting in a higher initial cost for contractors. Besides, due to its durability and anti-corrosive properties, hot dipped galvanized steel pipe can recycled and reused, which to some degree save a lot of money during the post maintenance work.
